MasterChef Professional 2014 Features Our Lamb

Posted 18/12/2014

The last semi-final for BBC MasterChef 2014 saw contestants Ollie and Darren work a hectic lunch time service with "one of Britain's most inspirational chefs" Anthony Demetre, at the Wild Honey restaurant London Mayfair.  Michelin star Wild Honey Restaurant has developed a reputation for its unique informal approach to fine dining delivered with precision, taste and presentation.

The fast and furious pace of the lunch time menu proved to be a real baptism of fire for both Darren and Ollie.   Ollie took on the task of the Roast lamb ribs and neck of lamb featuring Daphne's Welsh Lamb while Darren was in charge of the Turbot dish.  The experience pushed both the young chefs to excel with Ollie delivering "lovely, lovely lamb".

Darren was challenged with a huge demand for Turbot covers while Ollie delivered the lamb consistently with quality.  The general consensus was Ollie just about edged the Wild Honey task.  Later back at the studio Darren just edged out Ollie for a place in the final week.  These two young chefs did an incredible job; there is surely a bright future for both of them in the industry.   As food producers we are delighted to see our produce delivered to such high standards.

The episode is available now on BBC iPlayer for 23 days.
